Personality: Pearse is not very close to many people, but those he does choose to be around are extremely important to him. Towards strangers, he is polite and casual, but not overly forthcoming.

Raised in the Black Shroud, by 17 Pearse was on his own in the world. Keeper had come to realize given time that certain alchemic ingredients and additives which would harm others did not particularly phase him when ingested or handled. This trait made it easy for Pearse to explore a vast world of alchemy closed off to most people. It was during this exploration and honing of his skills that a darker part of the world opened up to Pearse. He began, and continued to take jobs as an assassin for well over a decade, amassing quite a long list of nefarious deeds done along the way without remorse. Keeping his name and location out of his business dealings, Pearse operated out of the sight and reach of authorities. Nothing seemed capable of slowing his progressive slip into ever deeper darkness, until Pearse met Dusk. Having been approached by Dusk to help treat the Gunbreaker’s seemingly unhealable wound, Pearse at last found a reason to change, to become someone better. Now given a new purpose for his alchemical talents, and a deep love he wouldn’t dare deny, Pearse is mostly found in the home that he shares with his partner, Dusk Delacroix. Keeper’s life is much quieter than it used to be, but every so often the past manages to surface. When it does, it’s not for very long. Pearse savors the peace and tranquility of his new life, and would do anything to protect it, protect Dusk, even if that means blood on his hands once more. Dusk, who is well aware of Pearse’s past, pointedly ignores these occasional acts of violence. Those who seek the reaper, often taste his scythe after all. If one does not want trouble, they should not go looking for it.
